Black (a slightly weaker player) has played passively, yet equalised, which is frustrating. He played Rc8, Re8, Qc7, Bf8, while I had Qe2, Rc1, Re1, a3, c4. I couldn't meet his e5 push with anything other than e4 and d5 with an equal and closed position. I felt he had better chances with pawn breaks and my bishops were quite useless. In hindsight, dxc5 (conceding Nxc5 with tempo on B/d3, but opening up the board) may prove more interesting, with more chances to attack the King. |

RE: ....b6 (again)
I wonder if any of you clever database people could produce some games on the viewer for us to play through?
Also I have just got Palliser's "d-pawn attacks" book which devotes 47 pages to the Colle Queen's Indian. |
